this is a script that i made for the project we did: Artist: Wassily Kandisnky
Wassily Kandinsky : Script (I say everything)
(Sit down with head facing the ground and humming the tune of that songJ)
M: What? What? What do you want?”
M:“Don’t bother me when I am doing my work!”
Sit up, pointing my painting toward the sky
M:“its doneI, wassily kandinsky russian painter, shall be known through history
Point it towards the audience
M:“isn’t it beautiful? Cant youf see the essence of spirituality and other stuff in this work of art? Huh?”
Snicker towards them.
“Well of coarse you can’t!d ha! Because you were not a child born prodigy artist like me”
“Not only that but did you turn up studieng on artwork for more then 40 years?.........No!”
Stare at the painting once more with sigh
“it is wonderful eh?”
“You know, I have a saying: Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the
harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul.
“My work was greatly influenced with music, maybe that’s why my saying is strange
Ah I used to be so involved with the spiritual essence in art that most of the paintings you will see shall be the result of my this”
“Let me tell you a bit of my past first, because judging by the expression on your face you seem to be quite baffled”
“Okay, so, it was from my childhod that I grew up into what I am right now”
“When I was born in 1866 and was raised through the wonderful world of music. I learned to play the piano and the cello at a very young age! Younger then you people in fact, making me a Childs prodigy as you people call it”
“After living a few ears in my birth city of moscow (Also from where I come from) I moved to odessa”
“After studying in my miger school where I barely learned anything, I finally enrolled in the University of Moscow.”
“There, I started my studies on-not art if that’s what your thinking”(Look eyes narrowed at the audience) “On Law and economics”
“And, of coarse, being the prodigy/smarty that I am, I do have to say that I was very good at it J……But of course I became “too” good at what I was doing and so was offered a job to become the professor of the academy.”
“I declined the offer, Hint: don’t ask me why? Anyway, in 1896, I travelled back to Russia, to a small city over there called Munich.”
“Over here, in Russia, the place I love, art came back to me! I started my studies here in Munich! I started to draw real-life sketches, anatomy and even paintings with watercolor.”
“I then tried out for an art college in Munich but sadly they didn’t allow me in first, stupid little stupids! Anyhow, I knew I didn’t need no stupid school! So I started to paint on my on, the paintings that I had just mentioned to you!”
“So then, one day, I went to an exhibition, it was truly spectacular! I was especially taken away by a special painting done by Monet…..er……….. I believe it was called the haystacks. It had a powerful sense of color and emotion to me. It was a picture! What a picture! ”
“ However, this was prior to the greatest event in my life. The World War 1! Yes I know you have heard the stories about the people who have been there and the journals from whose those we were able to find but it was WW1 that had shut down my art school that I had established in 1900 to the kids who wanted to learn art. I was so sad!”
“Anyhow, the picture that monet had drawn really spoke to me,…got to the in depth of art and how music and the watercolors with the newly gained essence of Monet made my artwork got beautiful!
”Realizing the in depth in art, my paintings turned extraordinary, music worked its way into the system and powerful colors I played with for my pieces”
“In 19……er something, I think 9 I published a paper called the “Spiritual in art” I had written about how the music and the essence of emotions/colors broke down work for me. I had started to break down paintings with my new understanding of the artistic world, broke the paintings down into geometric designs and flooded them with colors that you people don’t even know the name of! You can actually here the music lingering in the painting after it’s done!”
This art then came to be known throughout Russia with my new version of art, this art I called non-objective abstract art! A completely new kind of artwork on its own! From then on people had referred to as me, wassily Kandinsky, as the father of abstract!”
“By the way I died in 1944, just so you know:)”
